LUIS ANTONIO
MALL OF SAN JUAN
Interior Architecture
The renowned Puerto Rican designer Luis Antonio opened his atelier in The Mall of San Juan, a luxury shopping center. The designer requested three main areas: ready-to-wear, one-of-a-kind and limited-edition pieces, and a design studio for couture work. A monochromatic color palette was the starting point for the design, making the designer's pieces the focal point of the space. Aiming for a sophisticated, modern look, the design was carried through consistently — from the color palette to the display millwork and the hanging rods for the ready-to-wear clothing. As a space for showcasing the designer's work, the layout was conceived not only to function as a store, but as a runway, using the central display as a divider that creates a spacious path for a show.
